An EDUCATIONAL CAPNOMETRY instrumentation system for simultaneous carbon dioxide (CO2) monitoring of 4 or 8 learners at a time

  • Educational capnography is about using carbon dioxide (CO2) monitoring instrumentation for learning breathing behavior that results in good respiration.
  • CapnoLearning is about evaluating, training, and learning breathing behavior for good respiration based on carbon dioxide (CO2) self-regulation.
  • The CapnoTrainer is a combination hardware-software instrumentation system for ìliveî displaying and recording of exhaled partial pressure carbon dioxide (PCO2) and heart rate variability (HRV) data for evaluating and teaching breathing behavior.
  • The Capno-4 and Capno-8 Group Instructional Systems includes four or nine CapnoTrainers for simultaneously teaching and learning CO2 self- regulation with up to 8 people at a time.

The Capno- 4 and Capno-8 consist of wireless hubs, 4 or 9 CapnoTrainers (the ninth one for backup and individual work), a two-year warranty that includes damage and misuse, software that measures and displays physiology in real time for up to eight clients simultaneously, software for individual work,.
Wireless hubs link together 4 or 8 CapnoTrainers that transmit their data to a on a single laptop computer, which projects the physiology of 4 or 8 learners on to a single large screen for all to see with an overhead projector. Learners spread out in a training room as desired.

Display screens present physiology for 2, 4, 6, and 8 learners at a time. There are screens for individual work and for clients working in pairs (e.g., couples). There are also screens for doing group work with heart rate variability (HRV), that is, for management of autonomic hyperarousal in conjunction with breathing. Recorded data can be observed and printed out for each client separately.

Capno-4 Group Instructional System $16,000. U.S.
Capno-8 Group Instructional System: $34,500.00. U.S.

Provide breathing training classes for 8 people at a time with Capno-8 instrumentation,
based on principles of textbook respiratory physiology and behavioral science.

  • The Capno-4-8™ makes possible evaluating, training, and learning breathing behavior based on carbon dioxide (CO2) self-regulation in group situations.

  • The Capno-4-8™ includes 4- eight CapnoTrainers™ for doing educational capnography, CO2 self-regulation, with up to eight people at a time. Unlike medical capnographs, for monitoring CO2 during surgery and critical care, the CapnoTrainer® is ultraportable and is combined with software for both group and individual coaching.

The Capno4--8™: a group training system for learning optimal breathing
The Capno-8™ consists of wireless hubs, 4-9 CapnoTrainers (the ninth one for backup and individual work), a two-year warranty that includes damage and misuse, software that measures and displays physiology in real time for up to eight clients simultaneously, software for individual work, a CapnoLearning™ Manual, and Certification in CapnoLearning™ for one person by Behavioral Physiology Institute.

The wireless hubs mean that clients can spread out in a room for working in small groups or pairs (couples, role playing, etc). The hubs transmit their data to a laptop computer (not included), which then displays the information for up to eight clients on a single large screen for all to see with an overhead projector (also not included).

There are physiology display screens for 2, 4, 6, and 8 clients at a time. There are screens for individuals and for clients working in multiple pairs. There are screens for doing group work with heart rate variability (HRV), that is, for management of autonomic hyperarousal in conjunction with breathing. Recorded data can be observed for each client separately.

Capno-8™ Pricing: $37,000.00. The Capno-8™ may be purchased, or leased with a one dollar buyout at the end of the lease term.
